ESPN will explore the third dimension this year with its new network, ESPN 3D.
They plan on broadcasting at least 85 live sporting events in 2010, starting with the first FIFA World Cup match in South Africa on June 11.
Other games such as the BCS National Championship and the Summer X Games are also on the schedule.
3D television could be scary. Some people already spend 15 hours a day in front of the boob tube. Once they are granted this magic 3D viewing power, they will never leave the couch.
What about the people who can't even view 3D movies? Will they be able to notice the difference in the games?
And what about the visually challenged people who wear eyeglasses? Those crazy 3D glasses are such a pain to wear over top. Will there still be those snazzy red and blue spectacles?
This announcement has obviously caused many frantic questions and concerns from sports fans everywhere.
If ESPN really wants to make me feel like I'm actually at the game, then I'll need a drunk guy spilling beer on my back and a loud guy screaming obscenities in my ear.
